Tsukau Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

Tsukau is a Japanese learning app for Android and the web, made by an independent developer in Japan (YURU Studio). This page explains what information the app uses.

What stays on your device

Purchases (Android app only)

Tsukau Plus is sold through Google Play. Payments are handled by Google Play; the developer never sees your card or payment details.

To check whether Plus is active and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID it creates, your purchase history for this app (product, date, price, store transaction ID) and basic device information such as the app version and OS. It is not linked to your name or email. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Daily reminders

If you turn on the daily word reminder, the notifications are scheduled on your device. No data is sent anywhere for this.

Audio

Japanese audio uses your device's built-in text-to-speech voice. The text being read is handled by your device's speech engine.

Sharing images

When you share a word card or name card, the image is created on your device and passed to the app you choose. Tsukau does not upload it.

Fonts on the web version

The web version loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy.

What Tsukau does not do

Children

Tsukau is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
