Tsukau Terms of Use
Effective October 20, 2026
These terms apply to the Tsukau app and web version ("Tsukau"), made by an independent developer in Japan (YURU Studio). By using Tsukau you agree to them.
Using Tsukau
You may use Tsukau for your own personal, non-commercial study. Please do not copy, resell or redistribute the app, or try to get around the Plus features.
Tsukau Plus
- Tsukau Plus unlocks all Scenes, JLPT N4 and N3 words and kanji, and lets you choose how many new words to learn each day.
- Plus is offered as a yearly subscription, a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app and on Google Play before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the yearly price is charged.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy.
- If you reinstall the app or change devices, use "Restore purchases" with the same Google account.
Content
The Scenes phrases, app design and images belong to the developer. Vocabulary, kanji and stroke-order data come from open sources and are used under their licences (CC BY-SA and others), listed in the app under "About & credits". Those data files remain under their own licences.
Tsukau is a study aid. We work to keep it accurate, but we cannot promise that every reading, meaning or phrase is correct or suits every situation, or that it will help you pass any test. JLPT is run by the Japan Foundation and JEES; Tsukau is not affiliated with them.
Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop parts of Tsukau. If paid features are removed while your subscription is active, we will handle it fairly, for example through a refund via the store where required.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Tsukau is provided "as is", and the developer is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
